Unless otherwise noted on the Flotilla's Calendar, meeting are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 19:30 Hrs. Our meeting are held at the Winthrop Yacht Club, 649 Shirley Street, Winthrop, MA. 02152.

The Coast Guard Auxiliaries Mission and Core Values:

Historically, the primary missions of the Coast Guard Auxiliary has been to provid free Vessel Safety Checks, boater education and US Coast Guard operations supplement. These three missions, together with Fellowship the "glue" which held these missions and its members together, are known as the "Four Cornerstones" of the Auxiliary. In the current era, the Auxiliaries Four Cornerstones have become Member Services, Operations and Marine Safety, Recreational Boating Safety and Fellowship.

However the Auxiliary is more than recreational boating safety; we regularly serve alongside our active-duty shipmates serving as communications watch standers, uninspected passenger vessel inspectors, training resources for air and sea operations, numerous duties related to environmental protection and homeland security, and even as chefs! In fact, there are nearly two dozen "qualifications" open to Auxiliarists willing to put in the time and training.

Flotilla 5-1 is proud to be part of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and continues to support the community and the United States Coast Guard.

Membership in the Auxiliary is open to persons 17 years of age and older. We are organized into 16 districts nationwide, comprised of 171 divisions with approximately 980 flotillas.
